Rioja “The Charge” – Working with the talented Rodolfo Bastida of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao in Haro, Rioja Alta, La Bascula have crafted this wine from four different vineyard blocks. The wine was aged for an average of 9 months in a variety of French and American oak barrels. Aromas of berries and warm spice with a touch of coffee and dark chocolate. The palate is generous with beautifully complex dark and spicy fruit and good acidity. All balanced by mocha and toasty notes from oak maturation.
Bago Amarelo Albarino, Rias Baixas – This Albariño is from one of Spain’s newest D.O.´s, Rías Baixas, founded in 1988. Translated, it means “lower fjords”. The area has many rivers and bays, and its lush, green surrounding has the ideal climate and growing conditions for this noble white grape. intense aromas of mango, orange and ripe apple, as well as nuances of white stone fruits. A well-structured palate balanced and fresh, with a rich tropical character and a lingering finish.
