Spanish Fine Wine Red Pair
Salmos, Priorat – This Wine is a homage to the monks of the courageous carthusian order, who arrived in ‘Priorat’, in 1095, where they cultivated vines. In 1996 the Torres Family began work on the planting of vineyards on the slopes strewn with the hard, black slate-like “Licorella” stone. Deep aromatic intensity with a predominance of black fruit (cherry, cassis) accompanied by floral notes (violets) and delicate hints of toast. Sweet entry to the palate, very silky, with a long, lingering finish.
Coto de Imaz Gran Reserva Rioja – El Coto was founded in 1970 in Rioja Alavesa and has grown from modest beginnings into one of the best known Rioja producers. Today El Coto has over 700 hectares of vineyard in production across the three Rioja DOCa sub-zones of Rioja Alta, Rioja Baja and Rioja Alavesa. Toasted oak nuances and coconut give way to notes of leather and damp earth from bottle ageing. On the palate, silky, rounded tannins accompany fresh red berries, dried raisins and spicy notes. This is a complex wine with exceptional concentration and a long finish.
