Adobe Malbec, Rapel Valley (organic) – Malbec might be more associated with Chile’s South American neighbour: Argentina, but some great wines are being made on the Western side of the Andes. This Malbec has the classic violet floral notes on the nose while on the palate there are intense bursts of blackberry and black plum with a hint of white pepper.
Adobe Carmenere, Colchagua (organic) – Carmenere is an old Bordeaux variety that is scarcely planted in France due to it only ripening in the best years. It thrives in sunny Chile and has become a staple variety for the country. This example has plum and redcurrant aromas with hints of toast and vanilla from the careful use of oak.
